About Anesthesia Vaporizers
Oscar Anesthesia Vaporizer Overview
The Oscar vaporizer is used in anesthesia machines to vaporize and deliver volatile anesthetic agents (like halothane, isoflurane, or sevoflurane) in a controlled manner.
It is agentspecific (i.e. calibrated differently for each anesthetic) to ensure accurate delivery.
It is temperature- and flow-compensated to maintain a consistent output across a clinical flow range (often ~0.5 to 15L/min)
It comes in different mounting types (Selectatec, Cage mount, Draeger fitting) to be compatible with different anesthesia machine configurations.
Typical specs (for the Isoflurane version) include:
Dial control range: 05vol%
Gas flow rate range: 0.5 15L/min
Charging volume: dry 300mL, retention ~75mL (wick system)
Dimensions: ~110 215 230mm (W D H)
Weight: ~6.8kg
Calibrated accuracy: e.g. 2% at 5L/min O @ 21C
Operation temperature range ~1835C
Altitude operation up to ~8000ft
Pricing (India, medical equipment suppliers):
The Isoflurane version is about 60,800 (incl. tax)
